Dear Steve, This is gorgeous and so beautifully colorful. I like the composition w/ the drinks, etc in the foreground. When we were at the Waikiki beach behind the hotel and there was an old , old thin man hanging at the bar wearing a thong. His cheeks were tan and wrinkled but oh, what chutzpah (sp) to walk around like that.

Artist's Description

Cocktail art in still life motif of a Blue Hawaiian with flowers, fruit, and hula girl figurines. Bar art created for this unique collection of artist Steve Simon is a somewhat unusual theme for the landscape painter. Simon's usual attention and passion for the landscape and the essence of a given place is directed instead at the beverages which have in part become part of the places themselves. Sea shells, tropical flowers, pineapple, macadamia nuts, and, of course, hula girls for a bit of whimsy accent the feeling of Hawaiian aloha. A tranquil lagoon setting rounds out the composition.

Still searching for his calling, Simon chose to pursue an MBA in international business during which he studied in Paris, New York, Tokyo, and nine other cities throughout eastern Europe and Asia. At this point, his travels had brought him to over thirty countries as the cultural exposure...
